Job Description:

 

The successful candidate will be a key member of the team developing custom Power Management ICs for display modules based on Qualcomm MEMS display technology. MEMS displays offer significant benefits for portable electronic devices, including very low power consumption, excellent readability and robust operation, and will enable new generations of portable devices with increased functionality. As an Analog IC Design Engineer, the successful candidate will be responsible for the design of analog circuit blocks in power management IC technology. These circuit blocks will include linear and switching voltage regulators, charge pump circuits, voltage boost circuit, analog-to-digital and digital-to-analog converters, precision voltage and current references, oscillator, temperature sensors, etc. The candidate will be responsible for the design, simulation, integration, debugging and verification of these modules using state-of-the-art design tools. In addition, the Analog IC Design Engineer will contribute to silicon testing, characterization and documentation.

 

Responsibilities:

 

Skills/Experience:

- Requires 5 to10 years industry experience in full custom analog and/or mixed signal transistor-level design.

- Combination of low voltage/low power design and high voltage output capability techniques are emphasized

- Solid knowledge of CMOS and High Voltage MOS transistor fundamentals.

- Experience with the following design tools: * Cadence Virtuoso / Layout XL / DLE * Calibre/Diva/Dracula for DRC and LVS * HSPICE/Spectre/HSIM/Ultrasim/Cadence AMS for simulation * MatrixOne DesignSync

- Ability to work closely with layout engineers, including directing and reviewing their work

- Ability to effectively collaborate with remote team members

- Familiarity with typical lab instruments such as oscilloscopes, DVM's, and logic analyzers

- Ability to contribute to multiple projects simultaneously, and to be effective in a dynamic environment

- Strong written and verbal communication skills are required, including the ability to verbally present technical information to peer groups.

 

Additional Skills:

- Experience with production-specific issues like ATE and trimming procedures

- Ability to write shell scripts to automate modeling and verification work.

- Knowledge of digital design, synthesis, simulation, P&R

- Occasional international travel may be required.
